Once forbidden now for bedding   Greek billionaire Leon Carides has it all wealth power notoriety even a wife though he's never touched his convenient innocent bride Then a. Although it was pretty heavy on the naval gazing in the manner of most modern HPs I really liked the plot risks the author took here It reminds me of the intense older Harleuins that I love so much sans hero brutality or rapey ness There is a lot for the heroine to forgive but that s part of what makes an intense story I also say bravo to having a character encounter conseuences for his behavior

Caridess Forgotten Wife

Aps in his past making her impossible to resist But when his sins catch up with him can Rose forgive the mistakes of the man he once was Or will Leon lose than just his memo. I skimmed it It was just as bloody awful as I thought it would be Palm to forehead moment when I decided to read this one Instead of delicious angst I just got angst that didn t really make a heck of a lot of senseI don t for one moment believe the H could ever be a decent husband and that he truly loves her Their back and forth in the last 13 was somewhat nonsensical repetitive and utterly unromantic Lots of the author telling instead of showing The characters saying one thing and then the oppositeH marries the daughter of a man he admires She of course has secretly loved him for years He thinks he can t love and doesn t even want to try because he lost his baby son when he was younger So he marries h and then leaves her a virgin in her big old house while he drinks a lot and screw every woman in sight for 2 years Then comes the car accident and amnesia With the amnesia he also forgets that one of his bimbos is knocked up So surprise surprise when she shows up at the house with the baby and the lawyer and hands over the kid This is the last straw for the h but not really There s interminably relentless back and forth first He still goes on and on about how he can never love her but doesn t want her to leave blah blah blah blah and same goes for the kid They divorced so she can find herself and maybe he can learn not to be such an a hole But this is just briefly mentioned off camera He finally pulls his head out of his arse yet it was just too far fetched to believe that he had discovered he not only loved her but had loved her the whole time in denial Yeah rightGot one word for this book Eww

Maisey Yates is one of my favorite harleuin authors but there are two things I hate when I read a Presents One is a non virginal heroine and the other is hero having a baby with other woman In fact this hero had 2 children with other women and zero kids with the heroine not even in the epilogue Not that it would matter because just the fact that he had a baby with ow made me drop this book like a hot potato I

So Maisey Yates was cribbing from Penny Jordan for this one The H's pain was just so inestimable He HAD to go out and cheat and stay drunk and have unprotected lurve clubbings with tons of various ladies cause he did not deserve the h's SPECIAL The h's endless tolerance and auto acceptance of his OW's kid was just a minor blip when we are

Carides Forgotten Wife was a difficult read not because the plot but because it's not a romance it's a psychological dramaThe drama is the hero is damaged and the heroine lives in fantasy They have a celibate marriage He has hookups with other women and she thinks she's in love with himHe gets amnesia and big mistake the heroine has sex with him It all goes downhill from thereMy problems I didn't believe the heroine was in love Sh
