This is a wonderful book. Very similar in format and size of the Alan Lee's Lord of the Rings Sketchbook.
The illustrations and sketches are wonderful as you would expect from any drawing made by John Howe.

Way too many places in the text was questionable or downright wrong, especially any description relating to cartography or names. I get annoyed that what could been a very good book is tarnished by sheer incompetence in the text. The (small) part that was obviously written by John Howe was nothing wrong with.
But if you can ignore the text entirely, there is a book full of masterful artwork instead.
